Some important Midway-related links that will lead you into the world of Midway Magic

The Midway site http://www.midway.org takes you to the San Diego Aircraft Carrier Museum, the result of extensive efforts and funding over several years by citizens of San Diego, former Midway sailors, and many others to bring the Midway to San Diego as a floating naval aviation museum.

Troy Prince's excellent site at http://www.midwaysailor.com is a great place to find USS Midway pictures, history, awards, and links, access accounts of life aboard ship, and much more.

Buzz Nau's excellent site at http://www.cv41.org is the place where sailors having served on the USS Midway and/or Carrier Air Wing 5, etc., can sign up for inclusion in the ship and airwing alumni muster bars. It is also a great place to find pictures and links, and read accounts of life aboard ship, etc.

In April 2008, Huell Howser of California's Gold took us on an excellent tour of the California-based carrier museums featuring USS Midway in San Diego and USS Hornet in Alameda. It can be seen at https://blogs.chapman.edu/huell-howser-archives/2008/04/12/aircraft-carriers-huell-howser/. It can also be purchased through www.calgold.com.

At this Unofficial US Navy Site can be found an online version of cruise books including the "USS Midway (CVA-41) WestPac Cruise Book 1971" at http://www.navysite.de/cruisebooks/cv41-71/index.html. The parent site is another place where sailors having served on the USS Midway and/or Carrier Air Wing 5, etc., can sign up for inclusion in the list of the ship's and airwing's alumni. It is also a great place to find pictures and links, and read accounts of life aboard ship, etc.
